Throughout the 2025 Qatar Airways British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia, we highlighted some of the brilliant work that our partner charities did over their time Down Under.

Whether it was LooseHeadz staging events across Australian rugby clubs to talk openly about mental health, or The Matt Hampson Foundation raising awareness for their cause across the country, they've all done brilliant work. Here is an update on their efforts over the final part of the Tour…

LooseHeadz check-in at Melbourne RFC and Hunters Hill RFC

LooseHeadz completed their Tour of Australian rugby clubs after they visited Melbourne RFC and Hunters Hill RFC in Sydney.

At both clubs, they brought ex-Lions and Lions officials down to talk about the impact of mental health in rugby, and run check-in sessions before both sides trained.

In Melbourne, British & Irish Lion Tommy Bowe and Lions CEO Ben Calveley joined LooseHeadz.

During the visit to Melbourne RFC, Calveley said: "Looseheadz use the power of the rugby community to encourage people to open up about their mental health challenges.

"It's really important work, and we're very proud to be a supporter."

In Sydney, 2013 tourist Alex Cuthbert and Lions Chairman Ieuan Evans attended training with the LooseHeadz at Hunters Hill RFC, where they joined in with the session and spoke with the players.

Cuthbert said, "Community is massive. This is where the game starts. A lot of people might be afraid to join teams, but once you're in it it's amazing how many lifelong friends you'll make."

My Name'5 Doddie supporters go the extra mile

All across Australia, supporters of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation walked, cycled and dove to raise crucial funds.

Billy Whiston, or @Whistys_World on social media, walked 3,056.86 miles in 127 days from Sydney to Perth.

Doddies Grand Slam Team cycled 1,200km in just 5 days from the MCG to the Sydney Opera House.

Finally, two daredevil Doddie and Lions supporters did a skydive over Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.

All these challenges show the brilliant community that the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation has built, which the British & Irish Lions are proud to support.

Matt Hampson Foundation spreads awareness across Australia

The Matt Hampson Foundation have toured Australia with the British & Irish Lions, running events to raise money for and spread awareness about their cause.

They visited The Sargood Facility with Wooden Spoon CEO Sarah Webb, a world-leading rehabilitation facility that supports individuals and families living with spinal injuries.

Artist Ben Moseley produced a beautiful piece of work depicting the Lions, which is being auctioned to support the charity. He has since been named an official ambassador.

The British & Irish Lions donated signed memorabilia so that the Foundation can run a charity auction, which ends on Sunday, 9th August.

Finally, to cap off a brilliant effort over the Tour, Ben White was announced as the newest Foundation Ambassador.

Ultra The Long Run for Dallaglio Rugby Works

Simon Dent, or 'Ultraentrepreneur' on social media, attempted what he coined The Long Run in aid of Dallaglio Rugby Works.

The entire course would have been 1000km from Brisbane to Sydney, though unfortunately, Dent had to stop 482km into the herculean task as his legs could not take the pounding.

After a scan, the doctors found that he had run 50 miles with a fractured Tibia.

During his gargantuan effort, Dent raised crucial funds that will help Dallaglio Rugby Works support young people.

Wooden Spoon spread the word

Wooden Spoon CEO Sarah Webb has spent the Tour tirelessly spreading the word about the charity's efforts to support children with or facing disadvantage across the UK and Ireland.

"It's been a privilege to work alongside The British & Irish Lions and our fellow partner charities whilst on the Tour," said Webb. "I have seen first-hand the power of the rugby community travelling across the world; the four countries that we work within uniting to support one goal."

Wooden Spoon volunteers took to the pitch at Melbourne RFC to raise awareness for the charity, in partnership with Gulliver's Travel, as over 1000 people came through the gates to watch the Gulliver's Wooden Spoon Barbarians play.

Webb said: "I was thrilled to see so many of our amazing volunteers whilst in Australia, all primed and ready to support with our awareness and fundraising.

"Some of them even donned their boots to play at Melbourne Rugby Club to represent Gulliver's Wooden Spoon Barbarians. One of the players came straight from the plane and onto the pitch!

"Raising awareness on this international platform has been an amazing opportunity for which I will be forever grateful."
