On the morning of the 1888 Cup, there was no resting up for the players not involved in the Match Day 23 as they hosted a training session for 90 school children at their UCD training base in Dublin.

The girls and boys ranging from 8-12 years of age came from four primary schools nominated by the Irish provinces - Moorefields Primary School, Ballymena, Antrim (Ulster), St Columba’s National School, North Strand, Dublin (Leinster), Clerihan National School, Clonmel, Tipperary (Munster), St Brendan’s National School, Eyrecourt, Galway (Connacht).

The players involved in the training session were Jack Conan, Josh van der Flier, Joe McCarthy, Andrew Porter, James Lowe (all Leinster Rugby/Ireland), Will Stuart and Finn Russell (both Bath Rugby/England) and Ollie Chessum and Jack van Poortvliet (both Leicester Tigers/England)

The Lions put the future stars through their paces with passing and evasion drills before getting into a host of mini games.
