Promising young prop Tom Clarkson was called up for his first British & Irish Lions Tour as training cover for the front row.

He came off the bench against First Nations & Pasifika XV to make his Lions debut.

Clarkson earned eight Ireland caps before his call-up to the Tourists, having made his debut in the 2024 Autumn Nations Series coming off the bench to replace Finlay Bealham in 22-19 win over Argentina in November.

He was also named on the bench for Ireland’s opener in the 2025 Six Nations to make his tournament debut.

Clarkson started playing rugby at the famous Blackrock College, where he won the Leinster Schools cup in 2018.

After leaving school, he joined the Leinster Rugby Academy in 2019, going on to make his senior debut in August 2020 against Ulster.

During his time in the Ireland U20s, Brown won a U20 Six Nations Grand Slam with Ireland in 2019 and was vice-captain when Ireland won the Triple Crown in 2020, though the tournament was curtailed by COVID-19 before its completion.

He has gone on to be a Leinster regular and has now played over 60 times for the province including 18 appearances last season.
