UK headquartered payments fintech Sokin, has become the Official Global Payments Partner of the Qatar Airways British & Irish Lions Men’s Tour to Australia 2025
The partnership will see Sokin provide the Lions with international payments and foreign exchange requirements. Sokin’s branding will feature on the player’s shorts, LED boards within the stadium, at every match and across official interview backdrops.
Sokin has expertise in supporting the global sport industry, having previously partnered with a range of top European football clubs and their existing partnership with the Premier League’s, Nottingham Forest.
Now enabling more than $4.5 billion in transactional volume per year, this milestone further cements Sokin’s position as a critical payment partner for businesses across a wide range of industries from freight and logistics to internationally recognised sport’s teams.
Tom Halsey, Chief Commercial Officer at The British & Irish Lions, said: “It is great to welcome Sokin to the Lions family as we tour Australia this summer. There is nothing in world sport quite like a British & Irish Lions Series and the cross-border and global nature of a Tour means that partners like Sokin are a perfect match.”
James Hannaford, Chief Growth Officer at Sokin, commented: “Partnering with The British & Irish Lions is a powerful sign of intent for Sokin as we continue our rapid global expansion and launch in Australia. This partnership highlights the growing strength of our brand and underscores our commitment to redefining global business payments. With a presence in key international markets and alignment with one of sport’s most respected teams, Sokin is making a bold impact on the global stage.”
