The Qatar Airways British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia 2025 is approaching the business end of proceedings with just one more tour game left before the Test series gets underway.

The Lions recorded their fourth win of the Tour after downing ACT Brumbies 36-24 at GIO Stadium in Canberra.

As always, the number gurus at Oval Insights were going gangbusters during the live action in Australia’s capital and here are some of the standout stats from the win.

70 – metres made by Jack Conan

Jack Conan had a stellar game in the No. 8 role and was at the heart of a lot of what went well for the Lions against the Brumbies.

The Irishman was at the top of the list for metres made (70), while also topping the charts for numbers of carries (17) and tackles (14).

With three Lions Test appearances under his belt, the 32-year-old knows what it takes to cope in the fierce heat of battle and performances such as this will put him right in the mix for a starting spot come 19 July.

4 – Defenders beaten by Garry Ringrose

Garry Ringrose put in another solid performance at outside centre, one that was epitomised by the four defenders he beat and the try he scored.

The 30-year-old was a constant threat during the 80 minutes he was on the pitch and supplemented his output by making 39 metres with ball in hand too.

With multiple names in the running to form the centre partnership for the first Test, Ringrose has shown he is more than capable of filling one of those spots.

19 – Lineout throws won by the Lions

Andy Farrell will be pleased with his charges’ efforts at the set piece, starting with their 100 per cent record from all their 19 lineouts.

Retaining possession builds both confidence and the platform to attack thereafter and the Lions demonstrated this well.

Getting the basics right will be crucial to any success the Lions will have, and Farrell will also take heart from winning all five of their scrums too.

12 – Turnovers conceded

During the 21-10 victory over the New South Wales Waratahs on Saturday, Farrell challenged his side to reduce the number of turnovers they conceded after losing possession 21 times.

It seems to be a rallying cry his players have answered, bringing that number down to 12 against the Brumbies.

There is always room for improvement, but that figure is going in the right direction.
