The stars of the show, the back three, score most the tries and take all the glory out wide.
As with the rest of the back line, Andy Farrell has a plethora of options to choose from, from solid options under the high ball to flashy flyers with lightning-fast feet.
Here are his options…
Previous Tourists
Despite his recent injury, many expect Duhan Van der Merwe to be travelling Down Under for his second Lions Tour.
A natural finisher and behemoth in the carry, Duhan brings a raw power unlike anyone else in contention.
His try-scoring record backs up his quality, crossing the whitewash 32 times in 48 games for Scotland.
Versatility is an invaluable tool in a Lions squad, and Elliot Daly is the epitome of it. Centre, wing, full-back, Daly can do the lot and has done in the last two tours. He is also a reliable long-range goal kicker, which could be crucial in a tight Test match.
First Time Tourists
James Lowe missed out on the last tour but is among the front-runners for a spot Down Under.
Lowe has been one of the in-form wingers for the last four years and has a cannon of a left boot that fits Andy Farrell's probable game plan to a tee.
Lowe's Leinster teammate Hugo Keenan is also highly-fancied.
Keenan is an intelligent attacking player and a rock under the high ball. During Farrell's tenure as Head Coach, he has been a key cog in the Irish attacking system, making him a possible tourist to Australia.
Tommy Freeman has been red-hot of late, scoring a try in all of England's Six Nations games and a first-half hat-trick against Leinster in the Champions Cup semi-final this past weekend.
Freeman, who can also cover centre, is a natural athlete and dominates in the air, meaning he could well be among the Lions announced on Thursday.
Fellow England flyer Tom Roebuck is also an all-court option on the wing. Although he only made his fourth cap for England against Wales, he has been mightily impressive for Sale Sharks this season and has an outside shot for a call-up.
Another option on the wing is Darcy Graham. Now Scotland's record try-scorer at only 27, the Edinburgh man is the Northern Hemisphere's answer to Cheslin Kolbe. Diminutive, rapid, and willing to put his body on the line, Graham has been a star of Scottish Rugby over the last few years and must be in the conversation for a spot in the squad.
Fellow Scot Blair Kinghorn will also be hoping for a place. After his move from Edinburgh to Toulouse in 2023, Kinghorn has morphed into one of the best full-backs in the world. Having also played fly-half and wing at Test level, he has scored 146 points in 60 caps wearing tartan.
Despite his injury, Mack Hansen is also in the conversation for a spot on the tour. Hansen has exceptional game understanding and loves to come off his wing and get involved in the attack. The winger's willingness to go and find work is something Farrell clearly values in his men out wide, which could increase his chances of securing a place on tour.
